But, sometime that’s correct and other times a tight player has set a trap for you and slow played a big hand in order to induce the above mention move, which no longer would make it correct given the situation. Now, the probability of a call is 100% and you are still a dog.

Plus, you are only getting the correct odds/fold equity if you’re playing against someone who has the same understanding of the situation. You can’t make the assumption that your opponent(s) will always do what is written in books. It’s just a matter of personal preference how you choose to play in certain situations.
